Abstract

This study estimates the utility of ripple effect on the society of returning farmers and returning villagers from social and economic benefits. Population segregation- and outflow-mediated ripple effect in urban and rural areas during returning to farming or village is estimated using the regional gross product increase/decrease model, which indicates direct economic effect and cost change in the environment (traffic confusion, sewage treatment, air pollution). Several social net benefits occur after moving to the rural area.
